Timothy George - Director & Licensed SurveyorTim joined the survey practice of Wayne Thomas in 1995 as a graduate surveyor, completing his Cadastral registration as a Licensed Surveyor in Victoria in 2002. Tim took over the management and ownership of the survey practice in 2008, and this continues through to the current day. Tim has strong planning & survey knowledge associated with the subdivision and re-subdivision of rural properties, subdivisions within rural townships, and subdivisions within Bushfire prone areas. Tim was a recent Board Member of Consulting Surveyors Victoria (CSV), with specific interest in supporting CSV's Small Business Network in the support of other similar small surveying practices operating within Victoria, and the provision and development of the CSV member services Further Education programs. Tim continues to support CSV in a non-Board member role.
Matthew Heemskerk - Licensed SurveyorMatthew joined our team in 2021.Matthew was registered as a Licensed Surveyor in 2012, and brings experience having worked within a large multi-disciplinary land development firm, medium and small survey firms previously.Matthew has greater than 20 years experience within the survey industry. Matthew has previously been a former Board member and Treasurer within the Institution of Surveyors Victoria (ISV), and was supported by Thomas & George P/L in undertaking this volunteer role in support of the surveying profession and its individual members. Matthew has a passion in the mentoring and development of young surveyors, and has been the Supervising Surveyor for multiple survey graduates in a Professional Training Agreement. He is currently an active participant the Education Sub-Committee of Consulting Surveyors Victoria, and is a participant of a Module Working Group in developing the content of the new Licensing Pathway Pilot program.
Ross Jackel - Graduate SurveyorRoss Jackel originally joined the Thomas & George team in early 2019 through to 2021, before the impacts of Melbourne Covid lockdowns temporarily impacted his survey career pathway. After working on his family cattle properties, and more recently within the IT industry, we are now very fortunate to have Ross return to the Thomas & George team, and we will assist and mentor him in the resumption of his survey career pathway in the role of Graduate Surveyor. The exposure of Ross & his experience within non-survey related industries, will provide a fresh view on how Thomas & George can continue to adapt and provide high quality results for our clients
Tom Richards - Casual Survey AssistantTom Richards recently joined the Thomas & George team in September 2025 in the role as Casual Survey Assistant. Tom has experience in the IT industry, and was looking for a career change and discovered Surveying.
He commenced his studies in surveying in 2025, and is now working casually with Thomas & George P/L when his study commitments allow.
Tom's maturity and previous university education experience, assist the theoretical skills of surveying currently being learnt at university, with this essential skill development being complemented by the practical work experience he experiences with Thomas & George P/L.
Jodie Barnett - Office ManagerJodie joined our practice in 2018. Jodie is the welcoming voice and face of Thomas & George P/L, making our clients feel at home and valued, when they first make their enquiries. Jodie has experience in the management of the subdivision planning permit, Certification, & Statement of Compliance processes, ensuring matters are brought to the attention of our Licensed Surveyors Matt or Tim when more specialist surveying knowledge is required.
